ABOUT US

Meet the Current WitS Board

We are a group of women in recovery with combined over one hundred years of sobriety. At Wits Retreat, we are blessed to serve a community built on togetherness, uplifting service, and shared healing. With gratitude, we honor this sacred space where growth and renewal flourish.

My spiritual journey began in early 2012 and has been one of continuous growth, recognizing that everything is connected. I believe in the power of mindfulness and the importance of compassion.

I live in Campton, NH with my husband of 10 plus years. I have traveled the word seeking crystal clear waters where I enjoy snorkeling and new adventures. One of my favorite places to unwind is at our family lake house in Wolfeboro, NH. I rescued my dog, Ginger, a beagle mix from South Carolina during Covid and she has been such a blessing in my life. On a daily basis Ginger helps me to practice patience and acceptance in a loving way.

I started attending WitS Retreats in 2015 and then joined the WitS Board of directors in early 2024. Joining the board has allowed me to broaden my scope of service work, and to build new, meaningful relationships. Throughout my recovery and during the WitS Retreats I’ve witnessed people grow, heal, and thrive. Helping to cultivate an environment that fosters these things has become a new passion of mine.

I am a grateful woman in recovery who has built a life rooted in spiritual connection, service, and healing. Since beginning my path to recovery on December 26, 2014, I humbly rely  on my Higher Power and find  profound peace in nature, drawing strength and inspiration from its natural flow. Through sharing my experience, strength, and hope, I have learned to cultivate deep, authentic connections and embrace a life beyond my wildest dreams.

The principles I have learned in the halls of AA have helped me build a loving and dedicated relationship with my family. I live in Natick, MA, with my husband, two daughters, three dogs, and bunny—grateful every day for the gifts of recovery and the ability to show up fully in my relationships.

Passionate about creating sacred spaces for healing, I offer Reiki, sound healing, and meditation to support those seeking balance and clarity—whether they are on a recovery journey, navigating life transitions, or expanding their spiritual awareness. With compassion and intention, I help others reconnect with themselves, cultivate inner peace, and embrace a more aligned and fulfilling life.

I have served on the board of WitS Retreats since 2023, , bringing my calming presence and nurturing energy to support women in recovery. I believe healing is a lifelong journey—one nurtured through fellowship, rigorous honesty, and spiritual connection. Grounded  in the principles of recovery, I strive to be of service by holding space for transformation and walking alongside others as they embrace their strength, purpose, and serenity, one day at a time.

I went to my first meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous on October 5th 1984 and have not had a drink since October 7, 1984.   From a young age I looked to  mind-altering substances to help me cope with life until it became clear it wasn’t working anymore. At the age of eighteen during my senior year in high school my counselor and a family friend who was an active member in AA  held an intervention to confront me about my drinking. Learning to live sober at such a young age was a challenge. I got involved in Young People’s meetings and this was the start of an amazing life in recovery.

Being of service in the groups I belong to, attending conferences and other recovery based conventions and retreats has enriched my recovery.

Doing the steps with a sponsor through the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous and taking other women through the process has been and continues to be an amazing experience. I continue to go to meetings, ask for help, and am grateful for over 40 years of continuous sobriety. Learning to live sober and have fun with like minded people has been a blessing of my recovery.

I started going to WitS in 2014 and  looked forward to going each year.  I was asked to help with the volunteers during the 2021 WitS Retreat and officially joined the board in 2022.  I feel blessed to be a part of the WitS community and am excited to continue with being of service.

Nancy T.

My recovery journey started on 8/23/1992 and I am truly blessed to have been sober since then. I have been attending WitS Retreats since 2014 and joined the Board in 2023.

Life has afforded me so many incredible opportunities over the past 30+ years. Early in sobriety I went back to college to become a medical assistant and soon realized my passion was in the kitchen. I made a career change to pursue my passion and I have been a Chef for over 30 years and even owned my own successful restaurant in North Brookfield, MA.

The greatest gift of my life has been my recovery and a loving God. I finally have peace, love and serenity in my life. I have been blessed to travel around the world and I enjoy my life today.

I’ve been told I can't keep this gift of recovery unless I give it away. I now run Awols, take women through the Big Book, sponsor and do service work. I have a love of meditation, a strong connection to the ocean and a love of the early morning sunrise.

I am so grateful for the life I have today as a result of the program, the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, a great sponsor and the warrior women that I have the privilege to walk this journey with. My home group is Early Risers in Marlboro, MA. I am incredibly grateful to be on the board of wits. I have a life I never imagined.
